Duplicity
Duplicity
~
Paved doubly, this walk of duplicity
I want the sweet path of simplicity
Straight road; well lit and true
~
~
Frantically grasping to fill life’s void
Tossed in the waters, bullied and buoyed
Wondering who am I, who?
~
~
Vices and bandaids cover the pain
Masking the hurt and tormenting shame
Though it tarries, it won’t ever leave
~
~
Hidden in actions, in work and plight
This life of fast forward, struggling, I fight
Searching for answers, yet still I’m deceived
~
~
Hypocrisy lives closest to home
We choose to ignore the soul that’s our own
Empty and searching, is it in vain?
~
~
Desolation within us resides by our choice
Awaiting our yield to His quiet, still voice
Ever calling us to Him by our name
~
~
This plight too much for my weary, poor soul
Refresh me with answers – again make me whole
Restore my weak spirit with joy and with hope
~
~
Anoint me dear Father and make me Your own
Draw me much closer; Your bosom my home
Your delight and love, the means that I cope

Thank you so very much. Being hones with myself can be trying, but made for a good self-therapy writing session. 🙂

How lovely! I have to encourage my partner to a similar time away. We are always scurrying to and fro.

The trials of life can give us so much to write about with more depth than the easier days. Thank you for your kind words 🙂
