The Easter Ellen Room

Ahhh a new room added to my cluttered home… Just the thought is wonderful! Of course, the room would be surrounded by windows and come with a built-in fireplace.

If I were allowed only three items in it, they would be:

  • A very comfy, yet pretty lazy-boy sectional couch that comes with all the bells and whistles and I could do anything comfortably.
  • A piano – not that I am a great player, but it does relax me and I love to learn
  • My laptop, to write my little heart out, to read and to keep up with the news. I would have my bible, and favourite books loaded into the computer and anything is available on the internet, anyhow.

I don’t think that there would be anything that I would need in this room other than my loved ones 🙂

    • Thanks… I had almost put in a kobo instead of the piano and then thought “doh!” I can have all of that on my laptop!
      Thanks so much JG 🙂

    • I have taught myself up to about a good grade three level and honestly, if you can read music it is easy, but if you can’t there are some excellent books that teach out there. I used one myself that took me from the very basics and onward. 🙂

      • I actually learned to play the keyboard back whilst I was in school, I only learned a handful of songs though.

It sounds like you on your way to becoming a pro 🙂

        • Lol not even close to a pro, but I can do a few songs very well that I’ve worked a long time on. I have rheumatoid arthritis, which can cripple your hands, so I refuse to let them change and stretch my muscles and push myself to reach further to stop the RA. I believe it is working.

Since you knew how before, why don’t you pick up a keyboard? You can get a used one for fairly cheap on line.if you’d like.

          Have a great night,

          • ahh that seems like a great technique to use 🙂 you can play a few more songs than me lol.

I will consider taking it up again, you can never have too many hobbies 🙂

            • I agree.. I tend to obsess over a hobby for four months, then the next etc. I go from piano to knitting, to needlepoint, but when I want to do it, I’m obsessive about it!

              • You described how I feel about blogging. It has become quite an obsession. Ive drifted from hobby to hobby over the years too, you arent alone 🙂

                • Blogging is different to me. Writing has always been a necessity, although I’ve become more public about it over the last year. I like blogging and as the other hobbies drift in and out, writing is a mainstay of my day. 🙂

  2. This is a great list. I like how you thought out the laptop idea. Instead of stumbling over what to bring, a laptop solves almost everything…with the exception of when the battery dies. You would need a power cord. Could you push the chair out of the room, while you charge the laptop?

    • I almost always have mine charging, so I had just pictured the chord as part of the laptop. (Oops maybe that was a 4th item!
Well I could always leave the room and come back after it’s charged, as I would have to take breaks to eat, at east 🙂

  4. OMG! So I’m just seeing the DP for the 5th and posted it. Then I went back to see who’s post to place on mine for others to view. I saw your name and…OMG! Ours are pretty similar. We have got to meet before 3 years go by.
