Out of My Cave

Out of My Cave

In the midst of the cave

Haunted and torn

You called me to life

And I was reborn

“Out of the darkness

I called forth the light

Created the universe

And made your world bright

“I hide in the shadows

But they are your home

Working your will

When you think you’re alone

“Embrace me, my child

As I show you my ways

Be not afraid

As I master your days”

With fear and trembling

I reach for His hand

So scared of tomorrow

So alone I stand

Help me dear Father

To run to your arms

Show me Your love

Pour out your charms

Light my path, Light my days

As I stumble and fall

Grasping at faith

It is your name I call

  1. PERSONAL NOTE TO ELLEN:
I like your picture in the comments today better than the one you are using on your blog right now. The picture I reference is softer coming across to me as less troubled. Please forgive my brashness but the thought need be shared with you.
    May God bless,
    Gary

    • Lol – ok I will change it. My daughter had done my makeup for me on my birthday so I thought it would be nice to post it for her, but it does not really say who I am (and it was a day before I got hit with pneumonia, so my coloring is already off). I will get to it before the end of the day. 🙂
Thank you for the kindness in which you carefully chose your words.

    • Thank you so very, very much. Yes, God has been so good to me through so many times that I would have just bathed in sorrow, He has lifted me up. I do post poems about the harder times, from time to time, but He does bring me out of them. Always.
      Bless you lots and lots,
      Easter

  3. Ellen I loved it because it speaks to me and I can relate! We all need to come out of the caves we’ve put ourselves in or allowed ourselves to be in.

    • Thank you so very much April 🙂
(I was mistakenly called April for a LOT of my life as people just weren’t used to the idea of a name being Easter)
