Chance of a Lifetime
From the Daily Prompt Take a Chance on Me
Date number four. We saw a movie “Law Abiding Citizen”. I leaned into him without thinking as the gory parts came. Awesome movie. I feel his head come closer to mine as I am nuzzled into his shoulder.
I think “oh my gosh! Maybe this is too forward!” but the gory scene continues.
The movie ends and I feel awkward. Really awkward. He is sweet and smiling, but awkward silence took over.
We decide to go for nachos and sit at a bar-stool table.
We chatter away, I am anxious still from having leaned into him.
I feel my heart racing a little bit faster than it should. He looks really happy, but I still feel embarrassed.
He jumps up from his chair, pounces forward and plants a quick little kiss on my lips.
I am silenced, dumb-founded, ecstatic, suddenly on fire with happiness.
He is looking at me with smiling anticipation, ear-to-ear smiling anticipation.
He asks “was that ok?”
I smile, so very happy as I look at his sparkling eyes, his big smile, the look of happiness mixed with apprehension on his face.
“Can you do that again?”, I whisper.
