Lacking Direction

From the Daily Post Prompt, Land of confusion.

Lacking Direction

The streets I’ve driven so often, in so many directions

Never fail to confuse me as they grow in complexion

As annoyed as I am at this bothersome imperfection

Worse as I drive with others, who lose their self collection

Patience wears thin as I drive the road, the 200th time

Make the wrong turn again, when the wrath takes a climb

I apologize sincerely, my heart melting at my crime

Begging forgiveness as my apologies chime

It’s awful that familiar roads become so confusing

I mean to stay on the path,  “wrong” is not what I’m choosing

There is no such thing as a Sunday “happily cruising”

Although it frustrates my family, it’s become somewhat amusing

So be patient, be kind in this undesired affliction

I’m lost where ever I go, no matter the jurisdiction

Scattered or not, each road presents contradiction

So why don’t you drive? And avoid this sad friction

        • Yes, my father was eccentric, at the least.. my mom still lives in the clouds (which is not an insult, as it gives her a wonderfully ever-happy disposition). At 74, her dreams are as alive and hopeful for her as they were when she was 17!.
Thank you again.. it has been nice getting to know you a bit this evening!!

You are truly gifted. You are eloquent and have a unique way of concisely expressing pain and emotion.

So,the picture was not exactly the same one, but you will see it is quite similar. The poem is called Time in the Shadows.
