Lacking Direction

From the Daily Post Prompt, Land of confusion.

Lacking Direction

The streets I’ve driven so often, in so many directions

Never fail to confuse me as they grow in complexion

As annoyed as I am at this bothersome imperfection

Worse as I drive with others, who lose their self collection

Patience wears thin as I drive the road, the 200th time

Make the wrong turn again, when the wrath takes a climb

I apologize sincerely, my heart melting at my crime

Begging forgiveness as my apologies chime

It’s awful that familiar roads become so confusing

I mean to stay on the path,  “wrong” is not what I’m choosing

There is no such thing as a Sunday “happily cruising”

Although it frustrates my family, it’s become somewhat amusing

So be patient, be kind in this undesired affliction

I’m lost where ever I go, no matter the jurisdiction

Scattered or not, each road presents contradiction

So why don’t you drive? And avoid this sad friction

  9. I’m on, I think your 5 or 6th post now….decided a follow so I can get back and continue reading is easiest. You are so much fun to read 🙂 I love the way you write :))

    • Thank you so much! I so appreciate your time and letting me know that you are enjoying my writing. I have a lot of fun with it, other times, writing is my therapy.

You’ve left me with a great, big smile!

      • Yes! The therapy part is 90% lol! I have a feeling your Parents may have been creative in more ways than just pretty names 😉 Good Work, Easter!

        • Yes, my father was eccentric, at the least.. my mom still lives in the clouds (which is not an insult, as it gives her a wonderfully ever-happy disposition). At 74, her dreams are as alive and hopeful for her as they were when she was 17!.
Thank you again.. it has been nice getting to know you a bit this evening!!

            • 🙂 Yes, she is like having a happy girl around most of the time. I’ve never seen anyone face life with such simple happiness, hope and dreaminess.. it is such a blessing to her and the rest of us!

                • I am so enjoying your poems. I have to find one that I wrote that uses a photo you used and I will repost it (if I can manage to find it).

You are truly gifted. You are eloquent and have a unique way of concisely expressing pain and emotion.

                  • Then it isbrilliant to know that we have found a mutual fondness for eachothers work and effort 🙂 Gifted not, lucky on days, but if it leaves you will feeling, then wow…I can’t ask for more. Really, lets think once in the future about a duet…I love the way you write and think 🙂 I follow your meaning as if it were mine!!!

                    • Yes.. and I am really enjoying looking back. My writing was deeper a few years back when life was more “defeating” for me. Thanks for the prompt and I will have it up for you for your morning!

                    • Ah! Dreams of Gold…my Italian Partners sign off to me. Too coincidental!!!!! “The harder the moment, the better the poetry” 😉 Fact!

                    • So very true.. the darkest moments bring the words that shine the most..

So,the picture was not exactly the same one, but you will see it is quite similar. The poem is called Time in the Shadows.

I love and appreciate feedback. Feel free to let me know what you think. Bless you lots, Easter Ellen
