A – Annoying
I decided to join the Blogging from A – Z Challenge for the month of April. I am excited about this as it is basically a free-for all as far as what you write about and you can choose your style of writing whether creative writing, poetry, journaling, etc.
I decided to pick a theme for my month listing personality traits (good or bad) and to have fun with this.. I figure there may be some very raw moments in this as well as opportunities to dig deep, share, become vulnerable and laugh with everyone.
Immediately after making that decision, I decided to look up the Daily Post prompts that I had missed on the weekend and saw that the next one to write from is called “She Drives me Crazy”. I had already seen this title and decided to work on a piece reflecting on how I am the one that usually drives people around me crazy, but it fits with today’s “A-Z” challenge as the personality trait that I will use is (as so endearingly used by my children, my sweetheart and his children) is “Annoying”.
It may be annoying that I laugh with a snort
Or that I’m really quite clumsy, a big bird of sorts
You sigh as I tell you to be careful (the fifth time)
But repetition is clarity and clarity is divine
I have to sit in the same seat, have to eat the same way
I save the best for the last, every meal, every day
I count the steps that I climb, say my prayers every night
I do not like change, change equals fright
I want to touch those I love and love the ones that I touch
It’s a need, not a want; I find comfort as I clutch
I repeat what I say, but I’m sincere every time
It may be annoying, but it isn’t a crime
There’s so much to explore, so much for enjoying
If you look past the things, that you might find annoying
