In the Window and Out

Fromm today’s Daily Prompt: Landscape:  When you look out the window, what do you see (figuratively or literally) transit

In the Window and Out

I sit on the bus, weary and tired

Three bags my purse and my laptop, unwired

A woman who’s been round the block many times

Hose ripped and hair off-colour, her age sadly chimes

Young little one who’s mom is tired and mean

Chastising his every move and word, it would seem

A babe in a carriage, in angel’s sweet sleep

The young boy now looking as if he will weep

A teen in the back, head-phoned, bobbing a tread

And older, lovely lady white gracing her head

Cocky young man with his mouth full of food

His attitude rough and his demeanour so rude

Teen girl texting, fingers flying in a flurry

She’s laughing, then scowling, typing moods in a hurry

A young ruddy, lad sweetly smiles at me

I smile back and think, how wonderful, life can be

Two strangers chatting politely sharing their day

Nodding their heads in the courtesies sway

But outside I look and I see our big world

Cars, buses and houses, I watch it unfurled

Apartments, plazas, too much to take in

I’d rather sit here observing with my paper and pen

  1. Sometimes everything just moves so fast and so much gets crammed into so little time! I can relate to wanting to sit back and observe rather than interacting with the chaos at times!

    • It was odd as I hardly ever take the bus. But I sat there and I was sad for the most part at what I saw around me. I tend to like looking from the inside out and not from the Outside In so this was different for me. Puppy beside me as I was writing 🙂

  2. Love this! Sometime’s it’s nice to just take some time and observe the world around us.. we can learn a lot from it 🙂

    • I so agree.. to see others struggling, others laughing, others just staring out the window. It had been so long since I was on a bus seat and a great place to observe.
