I was asked today
What I think are the 7 true wonders of the world and my answers were this:
This is not a question i have thought of before, but here are my 7 wonders:
1 – how does a baby know to stare you in the eye – captivating your very soul the moment that it is born?
2 – How does a rainbow – something so ancient, so common to all of us still stop traffic
3 – I wonder how people can look at the stars, so perfectly hung in the skies, flashing their perfection at us, and yet doubt that there is a creator of Heaven and earth
4 – I wonder how people turn so far away from who they were created to be, to become so vile, so violent, so inhumane and cruel…where does that voice within them go?
5 – I wonder How God had the time, the effort and the ability to create such beauty – so vast and so widely arrayed that it is beyond our understanding -in the flowers, birds, the oceans, the rivers, the mountains, the snowflakes, the insects and each little hair on our bodies… it is just sooo much to fathom
6 – I wonder why people cannot feel the love of God or the Holy Spirit? I dont understand this
7 – I wonder how God, despite His glory, His grace, His mercy and His majesty, can love us? Such a vile group of individuals.. yet he beckons us to Him, woos us, calls out to us… relentlessly loving us despite who we are..
In response, the man that asked me the question answered me that this is his belief of what they are:
1 to touch
2 to taste
3 to see
4 to hear
5 to feel
6 to laugh
7 to love
This was given to me one day,the seven wonders of the world from a childs point of view.
